Scissor lifts are a type of mobile aerial work platform noted for the crisscrossing braces they use to raise and lower workers, tools, and other materials on a platform (generally 1.5 to 2.4 metres across) straight up and down.

Scissor lifts are commonly used in construction, factory, warehouse, retail, and many other settings to perform maintenance, cleaning, building, installation, inventory, and other tasks. Compared to boom lifts, scissor lifts are generally more affordable, have larger platforms, and support heavier lift capacities with some models exceeding 450-kilogram capacities and able to hold four or more workers simultaneously. Scissor lifts, however, have lower lift heights (generally 6 to 15-plus metres) and are more difficult to maneuver around construction sites, although rough-terrain models are available.

Types Of Scissor Lifts
