In 1960, Crown began production of a line of high-quality lift trucks for intermediate-duty applications, and says it became the fastest-growing material-handling equipment manufacturer in its product markets soon after. In addition to earning a reputation early on for safety and reliability, Crown products have consistently garnered attention over the years for their design. In fact, the company says its products have earned Crown more than 80 industry design awards. Crown says it designs and manufactures up to 85% of the components used in its forklifts, including motors, drive units, and electronic modules.
